DocHub v5.0.7 released! Several bugs fixed and other minor improvements.

Version 5.0.4 released - Minor bug fixes and cleanup.

This update fixes a few minor bugs relating to yesterdays version 5 deployment.

• We deployed a UI update improving how the inbox in your dashboard looks.
• We fixed a bug that, in certain circumstances, prevented signers from being able to complete sign requests that were created from templates. The fix is not retroactive, so if you were impacted by the bug, please resend your sign request from the template.
• A minor bug causing a dropdown menu to be erroneously cropped has been resolved.
• A preventing payment methods from being added in the subscription checkout table has been resolved.
• A bug relating to the user or organization selection dropdown in certain forms has been resolved.

DocHub v5 - a massive frontend overhaul - is now released!

Today we're excited to release DocHub version 5! We've been working on this release for nearly an entire year, making it the largest single update we've ever deployed. This update includes:

Huge Frontend Code Update - We rewrote everything using typescript. We updated frameworks and migrated components (including making a huge shift to Ember Octane). These updates will allow us to rapidly develop future updates much more rapidly and with fewer errors.

UI Updated with Tailwind - Our components now make things look prettier, work more reliably and load faster. We are migrating away from Bootstrap and jQuery and once we've 100% wrapped up with the migration, we'll see an even bigger performance improvement.

Many Minor Updates - This update includes 10,000 commits updating 5,000 files and 100,000 lines of code. There are lots of minor improvements and fixes.

DocHub v4.1 released! Improved sign requests, email inputs, and more.

DocHub v4.1 updates include:

• Improved sign request interface
  • Decluttered interface keeps things clean and intuitive
  • Template workflow smoothed out as well
• Improved email inputs
  • Email inputs that support multiple emails easy parse any pasted email list you throw at it
  • You can double click on a tagged email object to edit the email address
• Improved support for sending a sign request to a user with multiple emails connected to their DocHub
• Subscription migration improved for upgrading form a personal DocHub Pro plan to an organization
• We've improved our backend deployment system to allow seamless zero-downtime deployments while supporting high traffic volume
• Security fixes and framework updates
• We added a couple of options to improve public or shared template workflows. These settings are currently located within the edit section of the permissions dialog. When users fill a copy of your template:
• Disable annotations -- you can disable annotations and restrict document completion to exclusively form fields
  • Disable eSignature agreement and simply workflow -- if you don't need users to complete the eSignature agreement workflow, then you can simplify their workflow by disabling it.

DocHub 4.0 released! We've rolled out a ton of backend and frontend updates of the last few months!

Although our release notes have been somewhat absent so far this year, we've been working harder than ever! We've patched bugs, tightened security, overhauled servers, updated frameworks, redesigned backend processes and much more. As a testament to the efficacy of our updates, we're now smashing past DocHub's previous traffic records; there are nearly 10,000 active users at this instant, all happily signing and editing PDFs.

Since our last release note, we've merged 250 pull requests and resolved as many issues. Here are a few of the highlights.

Security Updates

Google Security Assessment Passed! 🎉

Last year Google launched a program to help improve the security of sites like DocHub which interact with various Google APIs. As part of the program, we hired an third party to come in and evaluate how we run things. We're happy to say they were unable to find any significant vulnerabilities and we passed the test! 🥇

Partnered with Sqreen

To keep the hackers at bay, we've now investigated and tried may third party firewalls with DocHub. In addition to many other security measures, we've partnered with Sqreen which has done an excellent job preventing threats before they happen.

Enhanced Virus scanning

We've added improved virus scanning to check everything that comes through DocHub. So now anytime you download a file on DocHub a PDF on DocHub, you can feel secure.

MFA Access

DocHub now supports adding another layer of authentication to your DocHub account by adding text message verification or an authenticator app.

Login History and Session Tracking

You can view login history and see recent or active sessions to your DocHub account from the security page in your DocHub setting

DocHub v3.7.1 - Improves security 🚓 and compliance ✅

DocHub v3.7.1 is a behind the screens update improves which improves the platform's security and compliance requirements.

Attach as PDF to Gmail Draft

We've updated several workflows to comply with increases in Google's security and compliance requirements. In particular, we've temporarily removed the attach to draft feature from the Send as Attachment modal. We plan to bring back an improved version of this feature early next year. In the meantime, similar workflows can be achieved by any of the following:

• Attach PDF from your DocHub to Gmail drafts by using our DocHub Gmail Add-on
• Send emails directly from DocHub via email form in within the Send as Attachment modal
• Download or export the file, then open Gmail.com and attach the downloaded file to your reply or new draft

Authentication and Sessions Updated

We updated authentication and session workflows. If you're having difficulty accessing DocHub, or importing a file, please try:

• clearing your browsers cookies
• Try quitting out of your browser entirely then reopening it
• Try signing in and out from our homepage, dochub.com

Additional sign-in and authentication improvements coming early next year.

Compliance Updates

We've been ramping up our security checklist to ensure your data is secure and to meet the highest level of compliance requirements. In addition to a significant internal audit, we've partnered with a third party to perform routine security audits of our site.

This release also resolves several minor bugs.

DocHub v3.6.8 released! Authentication and security improved. Other misc issues resolved. 🦃🌽🍗

Improvements in DocHub version 3.6.8 include:

• Improved authentication workflows
• Improves support for switching between users or signers
• You can now view active sessions for your account from dochub.com/settings/account
• From the document's merge and append pages modal: you can now append existing documents from your DocHub

Bugs resolved:

• A layout issue with creating drafts in Gmail has been resolved
• Embedded buttons in PDFs that get covered by annotations or fields are now flattened. This resolves a bug where buttons previously covered annotation or field.
• A (rare) bug that caused blank pages after the first one when exporting a document and flattening fields has been resolved.
• A (minor) image render bug with sign request emails has been resolved.

DocHub v3.6.5! This update improves dashboard query features and page loading time.

• You can now search your dashboard with multiple emails at once.
• We've improved the load times for DocHub by reducing the app's file size.
• Various other minor UI/UX updates.

DocHub v3.6.3 released! This release improves annotations, sign requests and more.

Highlights in this release include:

Sign request updates

• A bug with pre-filled data not carrying over to the new copy has been resolved
• The permissions workflow while creating a sign request from a template has been improved/stabilized
• We've added easy to toggle checkboxes for quickly assigning who receives the final copy of a sign request
• Resolves a bug resulting from imported grouped form fields which prevente sign requests from being finalized

Annotation updates

• Multi-directional resize now available for certain annotations
• Performance improved for text annotations. In particular, large amounts of text within a single annotation degraded rendering performance. This issue has been improved.
• The shape tools can be reused without reselecting them.

DocHub v3.6 - Introduces prefilling fields when sending sign requests, prettier release notes and more

DocHub version 3.6 adds the "Data Key" tag (aka: "Field Title") to form fields.
With the Data Key value assigned to fields, you can now prefill the textfields in a Sign Request before it gets to the signer. This feature is available when sending a sign request from a template. Additionally, the Data Key can be used to help label a field for a signer, export or audit trail.

We enhanced our release notes page to include images and our twitter release notes similarly.

This release also includes various other UI updates and bug fixes.

DocHub v3.5 Released! Big mobile UI cleanup, adds QR code scan to sign, workflow improvements.

DocHub v3.5 updates the document editor layout.

• Mobile users now have full access to editing and managing form fields. Previously these features were limited by screen size.
• New mobile specific page navigation thumbnails added to the bottom of the document viewer.
• We improved the workflow when editing zoomed out text fields.
• We've added a signer selection dropdown, and several other tools, within the field menu bar to improve signer assignment workflows.
• Newly created signature, initial and date fields are now set as "required" by default

DocHub v3.4! Sign request workflow improved, in particular for templates.

Sign request modal updated

• Much easier to add and manage sign request viewers
• Improved dynamic layout adds more features, but simplifies the workflow
• New transitions/animations improve feel and clarity
• Through a new user permissions option, you can toggle on or off sign request finalized emails for all copies made of a template.

Fill a copy UI updated

• Significant UX work done with filling a copy of a template
• When hosting a template, UX can be further streamlined by toggling a couple checkboxes disabling title and user selection for the template. This is done from: document -> permissions and privacy modal -> edit

Server Upgrade

• We've upgraded some of our servers to monster sizes (and $$$) to tackle increased traffic
• Site performance is now quicker and more stable with the upgrade

• We improved the Sign Request workflow
• We added a "Next Field" button so you can easily now skip through fields in a sign request.
• You can skip all optional fields within the page, or within the entire document.
• We added a sign request progress bar to let signers know how far along they are within the sign request.
• We updated the drag-to-sort framework used for reordering signers.
• Prettier emails - We improved the email layouts used for receipts, faxes, sign requests and more.
• We added document settings: disable duplicating, disable edit title
• Disable duplicate creation from users with read-only permission.
• Disable title input field for templates. Improves streamlined signing from templates.
• We resolved a rare bug affecting some mobile users which broke the 'update payment' button.

DocHub v3.2.5 released! Sign request, template and UI updates

This update includes many improvements including:

• You can now set all signature fields as 'required' with a single click from within the sign request modal
• Sign requests can require users to hand draw the signature and prevent users from using "typed" signatures
• We've added a "Next Field" button to the sign request toolbar
• Minor issues with the sign request field flag layout have been resolved
• Sharing a document now includes the option to send (or not send) an email notification
• Changing a template's owner now allows all the copies of the template to be migrated along to the new owner
• You can now export all field data from a template's copies to a CSV with a single button

DocHub v3.0.5 updates include:

• A bug preventing really long signatures from being created using the "draw" signature option has been resolved.
• Printing is now more streamlined in certain browsers and an error blocking the printed PDF from appearing is resolved.
• Shortcut keys from within the document editor view have been largely overhauled and now work more consistently. (eg: cmd+s, cmd+p, etc…)
• Fax cove page content now word wraps and line breaks appropriately.

DocHub v3.0.4 - Team Drive Google import improvements and billing fixes

Updates in DocHub v3.0.4 include:

Google Team Drive Importing

• The workflow for importing or exporting from/to Google Team Drive and shared files in Drive has been largely improved.

Payment, billing and subscription fixes

• Issues updating billing info, in particular for retrying failed charges, are now resolved.
• [Rare] a caching bug caused the effects of DocHub Pro to be briefly ignored for some accounts. This is now resolved.

This update also includes various other minor fixes and improvements.

DocHub v3.0 released!

Updates included in DocHub 3.0:

• We improved the user experience of the flags that appear to signers during sign requests.
• We added LTV support for eSignature validations.
• Versions of your document (eg: current, current + audit trail, initial upload, finalized sign request, etc…) can now be downloaded from the download modal.
• The downloadable audit trail PDF can now optionally embedded the document versions as PDFs.
• Searching and filtering your dashboard now supports drill down with multiple document labels and/or search terms.
• Billing pages and forms are improved. You can now swap between monthly and annual plans.
• Outbound fax history dashboard fixed. Additional fax details are now provided.

DocHub v2.9.7 released! Adobe approved digital signature certification added!

You can now apply our Adobe approved digital signature certificate to certify the signatures or the contents of your document before saving or exporting. Simply select the "Certify document" option from the download menu to apply the signing certificate.

You can view the validity of the signatures by opening the PDFs using Adobe Acrobat. See image for an example.

DocHub v2.9.2! Significant sign request, iOS, and Safari bugs have been fixed.

This release resolves various significant bugs.

[FIXED] Sign Request Role Assignments

In certain instances, form field assignments and other role attributes were not being saved to document roles that had been newly created from within the sign request modal.

[FIXED] Disappearing form field content on Safari and iOS

Some users noticed that upon clicking into certain fields under certain conditions, the content of the field would disappear. This issue is now resolved.

DocHub v2.9.1! You can now edit border thickness and character limits for form fields.

Toggle Field Manager, then select an existing field or create a new one. You'll now see options for modifying border thickness and character limits in the panel on the right.

We've completely gutted and overhauled our support system. We've added a new knowledge base, new FAQs, new tutorials - and more to come. Our new system is also helping us improve the timeliness and thoroughness of email support responses.

Improved Sign Request Workflow

We've updated the dialog box for creating and sending sign requests. The new layout clarifies the workflow a bit and resolves a few minor issues. Additionally, the new layout will allow us to add in additional Sign Request features going forward.

CSV Export of Formfield Data

We've released an initial version of a feature which can batch export form field values from multiple documents in your dashboard to a CSV file.

DocHub Faxing Improved

Various improvements and fixes have been released related to inbound and outbound faxing.

Other Fixes

Many other minor bugs or issues have also been resolved.
