Volunteer Position Description
Position Title: Giving Day Volunteer (Fundraising)
Location: Chermside
Classification: Volunteer
Responsible to: Local Manager
Reports to: Workplace Supervisor
WHAT WE DO:
Everyone has a story. At Wesley Mission Queensland, we feel privileged to stand alongside the 100,000
families, children, couples, and seniors that we support each year. We’re an innovative and responsive not-
for-profit community service provider, helping people across Queensland build stronger and more inclusive
communities since 1907.
THE POSITION:
Giving Days are online fundraising challenges that aim to rally groups of people around a cause. We will be
doing this through matched gifts, an online campaign, and donor phone calls on the day.
Under the direction of WMQ staff, Giving Day Volunteers will be involved in:
• Providing two hours of their time
• Follow a COVID-19 safe work plan
• Following a script and a list of donors to call
• Referring to staff should you have questions, need assistance, or have any technical issues.
Training will be provided before your shift.
TIMES REQUIRED:
• The 2022 Wesley Mission Queensland Giving Day is on Thursday 31
st
of March
• Two-hour shifts are available from 9am till 9pm.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• A positive and confident attitude
• Excellent communication skills and an engaging phone manner
• Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously and achieve goals
• Ability to understand and follow confidentiality
• A passion for supporting people in need.
