Work Experience
welder/millwright
Nuclear Power Plants
1971 to 2018
My dedication to work well done as a structural welder using mig, sub -ark, flux core, stick, and tig has
been at various Nuclear Power Plants, Coal Fired Boiler Power Plants, Steel Mills, International Paper,
General Tire Manufactures, Roof Shingle Production, Setting up Wind Towers, work in machine shops,
fabrication shops, and many other positions as a welder/millwright for shutdown upgrades, repairs, and
expansion.
Because the work history that I have is so extensive, my best resume is a brief description rather than
endless dates, times, name and places.
My beginning was a truck/tractor/industrial tire mechanic on the road, and at different locations
replacing tires, and making many repairs. Worked pipeline for Midwestern Contractors, and also how
to weld 6010 down with 7018 fill and cap along with work on equipment and parts room organization.
Worked years at General Electric welding parts for Steam Turbine Generators, followed with more years
at Electric Boat, a division of General Dynamics, as a 1st class welder on Nuclear Submarines. Took
part in the fabrication of stretch machine for the production of a fire hose. Was employed as a certified
welder for Seaboard Foundations working on a Barge assembling and welding 70"x 70' sections of
pipe for permanent bridge piers to be filled with concrete. My position also required other welding and
fabrication along with some mechanical repairs and maintenance on cranes, IR compressors or any
equipment repair was required. Years of work as a maintenance mechanic in a plastic factory working
on bag machines, winders, heated dies, building mezzanines, steps and handrails, and countless
more duties within the busy production facility. The additional valuable experience was employment
working on BMW (Biometric Waste Furnaces) with a large degree of welding, fabrication, hydraulics,
mechanical, electrical and much more. In nuclear power plants, my work would vary from welding,
sandblast, epoxy painting for underground piping and pump stations or whatever particular skill was
needed. Coal power plants kept me on boiler and precipitator work in many ways along with adding to
