Senator Report to Legislative Council (Nov 23 2022)
Sam Baron
● Submitted an FOI request to SHHS regarding food cost survey results
○ Expecting it to be negative and asked for it to be not be redacted
● Set up the OSVRSE Town Hall, when I receive info to be distributed I will make
sure it gets everywhere it needs to go (Britney and VP Comms for other
faculties)
● Senate Committee on Physical Development meeting tomorrow, will be
voicing concerns about restriction of academic and non-academic spaces
during the upcoming Rimer renovations
○ Pro-active on spaces for student groups
● Senate Caucus achieved successful language change to exam
accommodation policy to account for COVID-19! Note will no longer be
required, Uni will allow students to automatically defer in-person exams with
no penalty without a doctor’s note. Please do not abuse this, the fact that we
even got it implemented was an absolute battle lol
○ Not made public in MRO but changed on website
● Invited to Arts Faculty Resilience and Wellness Committee (RAW) meeting on
December 2
○ Led by LWA
○ Hoping to get some work done on increasing communication
● Will bring PSA idea regarding need for course accessibility without
technology to Senate Caucus, but it may be a better angle to make
on-campus technology resources more accessible instead.
● If you have any questions feel free to reach out by email! My oce hours are
by appointment.
