Sociology Students’ Association (SSA) AUS Legislative Council Report
Hi Everyone! The SSA has been quite active this Semester. Here’s a quick overview:
Events:
● Hosted a Sociology student social at Moose Bawr on October 26th which was super
fun!
● Met with UBC’s Sociology Student Association last week to discuss their “Share
Sociology: An Inter-University Exchange” event to connect Canadian Sociology
students (planed for Jan/Feb 2023 over Zoom)
● Planning a gingerbread house decorating event as a pre-holidays celebration!
Communications:
● We now have our listserv up and running after some logistical problems :)
● Stood at the Y-intersection to give candy for Instagram followers - please follow us
@sociology.mcgill (See Appendix A for proof)
Academics:
● Sociology peer tutors organised (shoutout to AUS VP Academic!)
● Organised a study session (November 10th) for Soci 350 as many Soci students
wanted extra support in the class (See Appendix B for overview of content covered)
● Started planning for Journal preparation
Finance:
● We’ve received our budget (shoutout to AUS VP Finance!)
Other:
● We are planning to release Sociology merch next Sem - if you’re a Soci student stay
tuned!
