Arts Undergraduate Society Frosh Report of 2022
Prepared by Equity Commissioners Andrea Landaeta, Emily-Rose Njonde and Zirui Li
We would like to acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional territory of the
Kanien’keha:ka people, keepers of the Eastern Door of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.
This is a place with a long history of meeting and exchange amongst nations. We formally
recognize and respect the Kanien’keha:ka as the traditional keepers of these lands and waters.

Introduction
Orientation Week is an annual, end-of-summer series of events in which incoming
students can meet other first-year students. A notable part of Orientation Week is the Arts
Undergraduate Society’s Frosh, which spans five days. This student-run portion of
Orientation Week utilises interactive activities to facilitate connections between first-year
students (“Froshies”) and various Frosh organisers. This includes Frosh Leaders and O-Staff,
the latter of which are usually stationed at events and aide with venue-related activities like
set-up and take-down, organising groups in the space, etc. Before Frosh, incoming students
are placed into different groups led by upper-year Frosh Leaders. These leaders are
responsible for creating a safe space for Froshies, as well as supervising them during Frosh
activities. Usually a group of about 3-4 leaders will be in charge of a frosh group of about 20
froshies.
Arts Frosh 2022 represents the first fully in-person frosh since the COVID-19 pandemic.
