This is a communication from the Sangamon County Department of
Public Health updating you on the status of COVID-19 at The Villas Se-
nior Care Community.
At the time of this press release, we are announcing forty new positive
cases at The Villas Senior Care Community. The new cases include: two
male staff members in their 20’s, three female staff members in their
20’s, one male staff member in his 30’s, three female staff members in
their 30’s, five female staff members in their 40’s, one male staff mem-
ber in his 50’s, two female staff members in their 50’s, one male staff
member in his 60’s, two female staff members in their 60’s, one male
resident in his 70’s, one female resident in her 70’s, one male resident
in his 80’s, six female residents in their 80’s, and eleven female resi-
dents in their 90’s.
Currently, eleven confirmed positive residents are hospitalized at
HSHS St.Johns Hospital, and six confirmed positive residents are hos-
pitalized at Memorial Medical Center.
The total number of confirmed positives include forty-six residents and
thirty-five staff members, for a total of eighty-one cases, including five
deaths.
