By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report Card (SARC).The SARC cont ains informat ion about
the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEA s) are required to
prepare a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how t hey intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, w ith specific activities to

DataQuest is an online data t ool located on the CDE DataQuest w eb page at https://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/ that contains additional informat ion about this
school and comparisons of the school to the district and the count y. Specifically, DataQuest is a dynamic system that provides reports for accountability (e.g., test
data, enrollment, high school graduates, dropout s, course enrollments, staffing, and data regarding English learners).
Internet access is available at public libraries and other locations that are publicly accessible (e.g., the California State Library). Access to the Internet at libraries
and public locations is generally provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Other use restrictions may include t he hours of operation, the length of time that a
workstation may be used (depending on availability), the types of software programs available on a w orkstat ion, and the abilit y t o print documents.

Dedicated to preparing all students for college and career, Southw est High School offers rich and varied courses and
pathways. Southw est is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, a comprehensive college preparatory program w ith
courses offered in 11th and 12th grade. Advanced Placement (AP) and IB courses represent rigorous pathways to college
and career readiness. Southw est offers comprehensive career technical education including the following industry sectors:
Agriculture, W elding, Foodservice, Patient Care, Design Visual & Media Arts and Financial Services.T he Sout hw est
Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (SAVAPA) includes courses in theat er, dance, art and music. Southw est High
School offers performing arts classes including choir, band, and string orchestra. Introductory music classes and art round
out the fine arts department. W orld languages include Spanish and French. Ot her course offerings include A VID,
journalism, yearbook, online learning, and ot hers. Advanced Placement classes are offered to 11t h and 12t h graders in
English, Social Science, Mathematics, Science and Spanish. Honors classes are available to 9th and 10th graders under
open enrollment. T hese classes are designed to prepare students for the rigor of AP and IB coursew ork. All freshmen
take Health and Success 101, which are graduation requirements. Students plan for college and career by creating a 10
year plan during their freshman year, and cont inuing to mark their progress through the Get Focused, Stay Focused
curriculum.
Our t eachers continue to develop and expand upon their craft by attending various Professional Development
opportunities t hroughout the year. This allow s them to bett er serve our students, w hich is the ultimate goal of
Southw est High School. W e are commit ted to preparing our students to meet t he challenges of t omorrow ’s global
economy to make our students college or career ready upon graduation. Here at Sout hw est High School, w e encourage
