Main Street Music Lesson Policy Agreement
These policies will go into effect beginning with your first non-trial lesson
Scheduling
After choosing your lesson time, it will remain the same indefinitely on an ongoing, weekly basis until we
receive written/email notice. Please consider all other obligations and activities when choosing your
lesson time. Lesson times will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you need to change to a
new lesson time Main Street Music cannot guarantee that one will be available to you. With the exception
of virtual lessons, Main Street Music doesn’t offer in home lessons and they shouldn’t be requested from
the teacher.
Discontinuing lessons
Students can discontinue lessons at any time provided that Main Street Music receives 30 days written/
emailed notice prior to the date of discontinuation. If the student chooses to discontinue sooner than 30
days after the notice date, their remaining regularly scheduled lessons within the 30 day period will
require payment regardless of attendance. If a teacher can no longer teach your child for any reason Main
Street Music will refund any money owed for lessons that weren’t taught due to the teacher’s absence. If
you discontinue lessons for a period of time and decide to resume at a later date, Main Street Music
cannot guarantee that there will be availability.
Holidays and Teacher Absences
You will not be required to pay for any cancelled lesson that falls on a designated holiday (see list below).
If there is a religious holiday that you observe that is not listed below it will be an excused absence.
Excused Holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day,
New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, July 4th
If Main Street Music needs to cancel a lesson we will either attempt to reschedule the lesson, schedule a
virtual lesson or cancel it entirely. If rescheduling is not possible your balance will be adjusted and a
credit will be offered for the following month. Once a rescheduled lesson is agreed upon regular
attendance policy stands.
Student Absence Policy
Please let Main Street Music know as soon as possible if you need to miss/reschedule your lesson for any
reason. You can cancel your lesson directly through the student portal on our website, http://
mainstreetmusicmh.com/student-portal, or by emailing/calling the studio. If you have not received or
forgotten your login credentials for the student portal email or call us and we’ll send you new credentials.
To schedule a makeup lesson you’ll have to email the front desk at
[email protected] or call
856 478 0098.
If a student cancels a lesson for any reason they will still be required to pay for the lesson and in return
they will receive a ‘makeup credit’ which they can use to schedule a makeup lesson at a later date/time or
extend their future lesson provided the schedule allows for it (Ex. you can use a 30 minute makeup credit
to add 15 minutes onto your next two regularly scheduled lessons). Makeup credits cannot be used to
cover the cost of regularly scheduled lessons. They can only be used to schedule a makeup lesson(s) in
addition to regularly scheduled lessons or extend future lessons.
Main Street Music cannot guarantee that there will be an available makeup time that works with your
schedule. Main Street Music is not obligated to create extra time for makeup lessons. Makeup credits
