Before You Begin
Thank you for your interest in First Interstate BancSystem
Foundation. As the charitable affiliate of First Interstate Bank,
the Foundation supports charitable causes in the markets served
by First Interstate Bank.
Foundation Purpose Statement:
To help communities live out their greatest potential by
encouraging active leadership and identifying and responding to
needs in the markets we serve.
Funding Priorities:
First Interstate Bank and Foundation help our communities by
investing in important initiatives, projects, and activities that
local First Interstate branch leadership recommends based on
the needs of their community. With a priority focus on poverty
issues including: basic needs, workforce development, economic
development, early childhood education, nonprofit capacity
building, and financial education. Grants are evaluated based on
the strength of the nonprofits’ leadership and financial stability,
organizational effectiveness, and community benefit and
support.
Application Process:
The completed grant application will be sent to your local First
Interstate branch. The local First Interstate branch will review
your application for eligibility and funding availability within their
market. The local branch may then recommend your request to
the Foundation. After a complete review and due diligence, an
award letter or declination letter will be sent by the Foundation.
Guidelines:
The Foundation only awards grants to organizations with a tax
