Helping Those Who Do Great Work Do It Better
Collaborative for Educational Services Town Hall
January 13th, 2021
The Collaborative for Education Services has engaged Strategy Matters to design and facilitate a strategic
planning process. The meeting of January 13th was one of the early stakeholder engagement events in this
process. Approximately 70 members of the CES team attended. The goals of the meeting included the
following:
Rational Goals
● Introduce the consulting team and SPC members to the full CES staff
● Explain the strategic planning process and opportunities for staff and stakeholder engagement
● Collect high-level input on selected topics related to CES’ SWOT
Experiential Goals
● Ensure that participants feel included and engaged with the process
A recording of the session can be found here.
We are entering the phase of the strategic planning process where the consulting team will engage
stakeholders and conduct sector research. The purpose of this phase of the process is to generate
information that will inform a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). A SWOT
analysis is simply a way of organizing a large amount of information so it can be used by a group as a
platform for setting goals.
Members of CES staff can expect to contribute to the SWOT and other parts of the planning process in a
number of ways, including through an electronic survey, and further meetings similar to this one.
