What does the future look like
if we build it together?
Since 1974, the NSSRC has been a
place where survivors of stroke and
their caregivers receive the support
and encouragement to become a little
better every day.
While the COVID-19 pandemic at
times kept us physically apart, you
have made it possible for us to pivot
to virtual and distanced delivery of
the therapeutic and social programs
our members rely on.
In 2020, because of your generosity,
we took a step closer to the dream of
a community without barriers for
survivors of stroke.
Thank you!

Funding levels remained
steady in 2020, but sources
changed quite a bit. The
Centre benefited greatly from
pandemic-specific funding
such as several foundation
grants and the Canadian
Emergency Wage Subsidy.
“I am so delighted to be able to attend our
exercises and coffee club virtually. The group
has been so welcoming of me even with my
speech difficulties. It helps me to feel more
accepting of my own limitations.”
