Dear Jetta,
The East Bay Democratic Socialists of America (EBDSA) Local Council (LC) is aware that you have
allegedly engaged in a pattern of unacceptable conduct on social media that violates the principles and
policies of the organization.
This pattern of alleged unacceptable conduct has taken place over the course of several months
including but not limited to, October 2017-December 2017.  This pattern of alleged unacceptable
conduct has taken place after you acknowledged and agreed to cease such behavior during a phone
conversation with Co-Chair Mary Virginia Watson in July 2017.
The online conduct includes, but is not limited to, allegedly reporting misinformation about EBDSA and
personal attacks that target individual members or groups of members. Examples of such social media
posts are attached in appendix below.
In accord with the EBDSA bylaws Article III, Section 4 Member
Discipline,
Suspension
and
Expulsion
,
and guided by the EBDSA Members Facebook Group Policy 09/18/2017, as well as the (non-binding)
national grievance policy, Resolution 33, the EBDSA Local Council is writing to you inform you of these
allegations and to give you the opportunity to respond.
If you choose to refute these allegations, then you should include in your response any explanation
and/or evidence that you feel is helpful.
Please reply to this email (localcouncil@eastbaydsa.org) no later than Wednesday December 13, 2017
at 10:00pm.
If we do not receive your written statement on or before 12/13/17 at 10:00pm the LC will make a
determination based on the information about the alleged incidents that has been provided to date.

APPENDIX
The images in this appendix are examples of social media posts that are alleged to be unacceptable
member conduct: reporting misinformation about EBDSA and personal attacks that target individual
members or groups of members.
A
A - reporting misinformation about EBDSA: EBDSA has hosted neighborhood canvasses several
weekends each month since the summer. The Brake Lights clinic timing did not influence the
continuation of this scheduling. Additionally, given that the Brake Lights clinic began at 10am with two
hours shifts and the canvass began at 1pm, members who wanted to participate in both, could.
A - personal attacks that target individual members or groups of members: Mary Virginia Watson
had no role in planning the EBDSA canvass event or timing.

B- reporting misinformation about EBDSA: It is true that Ari Marcantonio and Jeremy Gong attended
the same high school. It is true that two other members of the LC are in a relationship. None of the rest
of this statement is true. The LC has 13 members.
C
C- reporting misinformation about EBDSA: No EBDSA leadership member, elected or appointed,
has written a Medium post about brake lights as of this date, 12/6/17.
