Abstract
This paper’s objective was to find the empirical evidences of stock dividend announcement
on companies listed in IT Indices of national stock market. Sample data was drawn from
companies listed on the national stock exchange that have announced final dividend over the
period from 1

January 2018 to 31

December 2018. Paired sample t-test was being used to
measure the impact of dividend announcement on the share prices. Major objective of this
study is to identify whether dividend announcement carries any information which results in
adjusting in the share price.
