Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to compare the level of Achievement Motivation of
Cricket players of different levels and different Socio-economic Status. The study was
conducted with 270 Cricket Players of Gujarat state having different levels (School- College
and University) and different socio-economic status (Law-Middle-High SES) in a 3 x 3
factorial design. They were randomly selected and divided in 9 cells, each cell consist 30
samples. Selected criterion measure variable was assessed by using Achievement Motivation
Test Questionnaire by V.P.Bhargava and Socio-economic status scale by Prof. R.L.Bhardvaj.
Two way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Least Significant difference (LSD) post-hoc
test was used to analyze the data, the level of significance of the study was taken as 0.05. The
results of the study revealed that, there is significant difference found in level of
Achievement Motivation between cricket players of different levels and different socio-
economic status. University level with High SES Cricket Players had high level of
Achievement Motivation and School level with Law SES Cricket players had very law
Achievement Motivation levels noted.
