Abstract:
Employee empowerment allows enough authority to employees to make decisions on their
own. Resistance to employee empowerment can occur when owners and managers are
unwilling to give decision-making authority to individuals who are incapable of carrying this
responsibility. Most employees have some authority to make decisions when completing
tasks in their job. Empowerment allows them to make decisions based on local conditions,
personal experience or knowledge, and adjust quickly to economic conditions without asking
for feedback from upper management.
Some of the perceived benefits of employee empowerment include greater job satisfaction,
better employee engagement in their job and improvement in overall employee performance.
Indian private sector banks are growing and there are so many reforms in banking system.
Bank management understands value of empowering employees. Previously researchers have
