ABSTRACT:
Swachhta Abhiyan is really a great initiative by Indian Government and people are taking it
positively in many ways. There are enormous ways through which Swachh Bharat Mission
can be achieved and one of them is Swachh Survekshan Survey. It is the initiative taken to
rank the cities according to their cleanliness, disposal of garbage, construction toilet and
many more criteria mentioned. The purpose of the study is to analyze the awareness and
attitude of people towards Swachh Survekshan in Surat city. To fulfill the said objective,
study collected necessary primary data through a structured questionnaire and 100
respondents have been considered for the study on various parameters of awareness and
attitude. The necessary secondary data collected from books, journals, reports and websites.
Analysis carried out with frequency analysis and chi-square (Goodness of Fit) test under the
condition that data are not normally distributed. The study analyzed that normally people are
aware about Swachh Survekshan Survey but few variables like who initiated, criteria of
evaluation and previous year ranking of Surat, people are not that much aware. Further study
