Physical therapists (PTs) have additional special assignments, including special schools, schools located in rural areas, Child Find, homebound
students, mentoring colleagues, and participating in departmental committees. They also ordered and provided specialized equipment to increase
students' ability to access their educational environment, as well as provided ongoing training for school staff.

The District currently employs one full-time physical therapist assistant (PTA) as CCSD staff to assist with the provision of services and two
contracted PTAs. Generally, the PTAs follow a treatment plan and provide direct therapy to students under the supervision of specific PTs based
upon factors such as caseload size, travel distances, number of schools, and other factors.

Physical therapists were subject to increased city traffic and road construction as they commuted between their assigned 12 to 14 schools
throughout the school day. They also commuted to district sites for mandated professional development and to evaluate student equipment stored
at the Military Tribute Campus to meet the IEP goals for the students on their caseload.
6. Describe the degree to which the district expects physical therapists to participate in meetings pertaining to the pupils:
Physical therapists participated in annual IEP meetings for students on their assigned caseload. In addition to the annual IEP meeting, therapists
participated in IEP revision meetings and meetings when an initial physical therapy assessment has been completed. They also attended staffings
where they provided training and guidance for school staff to perform assigned duties, including, but not limited to, safely transferring students,
addressing toileting needs, and providing specialized equipment to ensure students were able to access their educational environment.

8. Describe the efforts made by the district for the recruitment and retention of physical therapists:
The Related Services department continued to collaborate with CCSD's HCM staff to address shortages through renewed recruitment efforts. This
included HCM representatives providing increased advertising efforts with online resources and social media. The department continued to increase
and expand new affiliation agreements with universities to recruit potential new PT graduates. The department addressed retention efforts by
developing staff surveys, updating the mentoring program, and orientation for new therapists.
