King Of Beers

Whenever you were born and raised in Belgium, like I used to be, passion for beer is a given. Make that
a birth right. A necessity, even. So imagine my parents' dismay once i announced with the chronilogical
age of 18 which i didn't maintain beer. They cried. They yelled. They threatened to disown me. They
attemptedto cause me to be see a shrink. Routinely without success. I really could not understand to the
time of me why anyone would like to drink fermented barley juice. What is the fun in that, when you're
able to have a Mojito instead? Or a Piña Colada? Beer, in my experience, was simply a foul-tasting
beverage that we would only determine that I'd been stuck inside the Mojave desert for several weeks
straight. Simply if your beer was ice cold.

So for a long time, I became the butt from the joke each and every time my girlfriends involved drinking.
When they were having beers with exotic names like Westmalle, Chimay and Herkenrode Triple, I
became ordering chocolate milk. Around the rocks. Using a straw, please. Hilarity ensued.
Inside my late 20's, I met a Canadian couple surviving in Brussels. They loved Belgian beers, being
particularly attached to trappists and abbey beers. I did not obtain it. Weren't those beers for those who
have senior cards?
After hearing them rant and rave about my country's biggest export product after chocolate, my
curiosity got the higher of me. I went to out and purchased one bottle of each beer I'd witnessed them
drink and took them home. For one more a fortnight or so, I sampled. I vowed to hold an objective
balance. And honesty compels me to confess which i was happily surprised usually.
Without further ado, permit me to introduce to you, several of Belgian's finest.
Orval
The very first available is often a trappist beer. Currently there are just 8 trappist beers in the world, 7
which are Belgian. This place was an acquired taste personally, probably because complex flavor. At
bottling, brettanomyces yeast (a neighborhood wild yeast) is added, which, combined with dry-hopping
