Vehicle Operation – The member wishing to be requalified must be able to demonstrate the following
knowledge regarding the vehicle operation.
Ability to start the apparatus and drive it in a safe manner
Jake Brake (Engine Brake) – When to use and not use
Engine High Idle
Turn on and off the inverter Properly
Engage and disengage the pump properly
Properly deploys wheel chocks
Radios – The member wishing to be requalified must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge
of the radio systems on the apparatus
Mobile radios
o Demonstrate knowledge of how to change the radio channels
o Demonstrate knowledge of changing zones for mutual aid
Portable radios
o Understand the operation and location of the drivers portable
o Understands the charger indicator light and proper radio placement in the charger
Master stream Operation – The member wishing to be requalified must be able to properly
demonstrate Knowledge of how to deploy and operate the master stream.
Foam Operation – The member wishing to be requalified must be able to demonstrate knowledge of
how to properly set up the truck for foam operations
Where are the eductors located on the truck
How is the foam system is connected
Proper Pressure and mixture settings
Pump Operations – The member wishing to be requalified must be able to demonstrate the following
items individually or during pumping operations. The purpose of this is to make sure that operator has
the knowledge and the ability operate the pump safely and proficiently.
Demonstrate the ability to recirculate water and explain why we recirculate water
Can explain the operation of the relief valve
Can explain the operation of the pump panel gauges
