After 15 years of playing the iconic role of James Bond, Daniel Craig finally believes it’s time
to move on to other things. Rightly so. However, this leaves the James Bond franchise with
‘no leader’ and the world is anxious to see who picks up the mantle next. Several gossip
websites are publishing that it all boils down to a selection between two astounding actors,
Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.
In a report by Women’s day, Tom Hardy is favorite to pick up where Daniel Craig left off. The
report further goes to state that Tom had been offered the role, following the audition he
went for last year. However, the influence of George Clooney and his endorsements made
Idris step into the conversation. From what we understand from an insider, if George
recommends you, then you are as good as having got the job.
Everyone knows that most producers would love to work with Idris. He’s an astounding
actor, with a huge resume when it comes to action movies. When asked for a comment on
the rumors that Idris is in the conversation, Tom declined to comment, which is totally
understandable.
As of now, only one thing is sure, “nothing is certain, yet.” In fact, further information reveals
that the makers of the franchise won’t be coming to a decision anytime soon. At least, not
until No Time to Die
premieres. The movie has suffered several delays over the past year.
The truth is, it isn’t right to think the job is only between Idris and Tom. In fact, the door to
casting for the role is still wide open. The words of Barbara Brocolli reveal that there are
considerations for other genders. “The spy need not be a man” the franchise producer said.
This offers another twist to the conversation, shrouding the future in a great deal of mystery.
Another angle to the gossip puts it that Daniel Craig and Tom Hardy are not on good terms,
because Tom is looking to take away his role. While this remains unverified, it also counts.
Anyways, bad air or not, Daniel Craig is confirmed to walking away once the premiere of No
time to Die is done.
